New York Times Article: In a First, Renewable Energy Is Poised to Eclipse Coal in U.S.

This article by Brad Plumer talks about how for the first time, the United States is using more renewable energy than coal energy. This is in part due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has decreased the demand for electricity.The implications of this for the environment are very encouraging as coal is "the dirtiest of all fossil fuels," and its decline has and will continue to help bring down carbon dioxide emissions, according to the article.
